Versus to televise U.S. games @ 2011 World Championship

Great news for US Hockey fans, Versus announced that it will televise all Team USA games at the 2011 IIHF World Championship tournament (in Slovakia), which begins April 30th in a match against Austria. The U.S. is also scheduled to play Norway (May 2nd) and Sweden (May 4th) before the qualification round of the tournament begins May 5th. The gold-medal game will conclude the World Championship May 15th in Bratislava.

Here’s the schedule of the games.

Side note:  I’m always interested to see which players show up to represent their respective countries in this tournament. This is usually a difficult roster to craft since the majority of the players are either still playing in the NHL playoffs, or recovering from an 82 game beating. Whatever the case, I truly respect those that come out to represent their country after a long strenuous season.
